Advert Proposal + Story Board Draft (Revision & Self Reflection)

 

This blog contains my advert proposal with its latest revision 

I'm creating a commercial for the product BOSE - Bluetooth noise canceling earbuds. My target audience will be those who work in an office and are used to rush hours, but particularly those who focus using music - this is because I, as a student, do my job better when I listen to music to enhance my mood and thus accomplish my assignment easier. 

My advertisement will take place in a café where the subject (male) would work on his project. Before he enters, he received a call from his boss, who delegated more tasks to him. When the phone talks finished, he was unknowingly wearing BOSE - noise canceling earbuds, and his music began playing as he entered the café. He mistook the music for coming from the cafe's walls, despite the fact that his earbuds were attached to his phone. He failed to tell the barista about his lactose allergy when he ordered his latte. His stomach began to ache, so he had to let out some gas, which he does slowly to match the song's strong tempo. As he finished, he scratched his head and accidently knocked over one of his earbuds and got punched to reality, he looked around and disgusted face surrounds him.

Self Reflection: It was hard to find a product to advertise at first since I had difficulties on choosing between JBL or BOSE, though I conclude my decision by choosing BOSE since I focus on targeting those above the age of (±)25 and so I feel like BOSE is the perfect one for me. Creating the story line was quiet fun as I got inspiration from an viral article that was publish around the year of  2012.

After consulting with my teacher, I decided to shorten my advert as the limit time is 30 second and mine was originally more than 30 second. My final advert will be a guy queuing on a cafe to get his latte ordered while he vibe to sound surrounding him. As soon as he received his order, he sat down and brought out his laptop, and as soon as he took his first sip, he turned his cup and discovered that the milk was cow milk, and he sat down with a frightened expression. He then looked left and right and had to let out a toot while following the song's beat and rhythm. The scene shifted pov and the café was silent as soon as he farted, indicating that he was listening with BOSE - earbuds noise cancellation and the whole café turned to his way with a disgusted expression on their faces.  

Self Reflection: I wasn't able to keep my advert short to the 30 second limit and so next time I would pay more attention on the detail on every task and not make the same mistake as it took me more time to shorten my storyboard idea rather than adding them up. 

9/1/23 - I decided to change a couple shots from my story board draft as I did a consultation with my teacher. 

Self reflection: I was able to finish both my Final Story Board and also my Self-Reflection Presentation in the total of 8 and a half hour. I had difficulties understanding on what to input in the Self-Reflection PPT as I missed a couple lesson during the explanation and so I had to reach out to a couple friends to guide me and thankfully I was able to understand and finished it on time. For my final storyboard, it was quite easier compared to the PPT as I've finalized it since a week ago and so I just had to add a few details, though I encountered difficulties on searching the song and so I searched through YouTube on 'Up-beat song enjoyed during work' and sadly none of the songs matched up with the advert that I'm working on. And so, I opened my YouTube Music and luckily I stumbled upon the song 'Happy - Pharrell Williams' and so i started matching it but I had a rough time matching up the timing and the pacing with the mood of my advert and so I tried searching 'Happy-Pharrell Williams 30 second' on YouTube and that's how I finalized my song[https://shorturl.ac/7bpnw].
